NGMLC is a Christian faith community which lives, breathes, learns and serves within the greater community of Deforest / Windsor Wisconsin. Leadership has constantly been keeping abreast of the Worldwide Health Crisis because we understand and live by God’s second greatest commandment to love your neighbor as yourself (Mt 22:39).
While leadership came to the unanimous decision to have worship services, meetings, and education groups online only through the end of 2020, it was not an easy decision. Grief and lament were shared along with the belief that we have a responsibility to reduce our contact with people. As Christians, we trust God and Jesus to help us through this crisis, and we also trust science and what medical experts tell us.
Wearing masks, washing hands and staying physically distant are all very important steps to slow the spread of COVID-19, while minimizing physical contact with people beyond the people we live with is imperative to stopping the spread of COVID-19.
We re-iterate what was shared In April, at the beginning of the pandemic, “We are a small and powerful member of Christ’s global church. God has empowered us to serve each other, and that is what we have done, that is what we do, and that is what we will continue to do.”
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. — Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
